Our BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
Since before I can remember, my father and my grandfathers were all very handy. They were always teaching me new things on the farm, many times repairing equipment with only what we had in the barn (then fixing it properly when it wasn't 2am during harvest). I named my company after my grandfather, nicknamed Jack because he was extremely handy and was a "Jack of all Trades". My other grandfather taught me woodworking - he was very patient, more of an introvert, and his hobby was making beautiful wood carvings including renderings of animals and figurines for churches and family. My father was good at researching and figuring out things in detail, and he taught me how to apply that approach to repairing things or creating anything I could envision. He also taught me how to run a business, since he has owned many of his own over the years.
I went on to work at the large box stores while I was going to school for my construction, emergency management, business management, and marketing degrees. Summers I would work in the fields doing all sorts of different trades - Foundation work, Framing, Roofing, Siding and Windows, Plumbing, Landscaping. I'd always have someone in my group of friends or family needing some sort of home repair I could knock out - construction and maintenance always seemed easy to me. Troubleshooting a problem and finding and fixing the cause was a gift. It grew from there. I worked in disaster renovations, working with insurance companies and mitigating the myriad of problems within a disaster situation.
After I moved to Denver from Minnesota, I became friends with many people in their 30's who were buying homes. Word got around that I was a pretty handy guy, and a friend of mine wanted help with his kitchen. I told him I may know a thing or two.. from then I was hooked on remodeling kitchens. Turning a 70's boxy room floor plan into a total open warm space was what I wanted to do! Nothing I enjoy more than providing the ability to make a home more functional, beautiful, and enjoyable. My hope is I can do that for every one of our customers.
Jack and a Truck, LLC began in 2017 with a contract to support commercial maintenance for Walgreens across the Front Range, as well as maintenance for many other companies. I was the preferred contractor by facility maintenance companies and their affiliates. During slower times I began supporting a general contractor as their high end kitchen and bathroom remodeler. After awhile I got my license and decided it was time to move out on my own. I still have maintenance contracts, however home remodeling is my passion!

My family is my everything! My wife Mari and I were married during a blizzard over Thanksgiving week 2018 in the Rocky Mountains; what a way to bring in the beginning of a family (it's a blessing from what I'm told)! Not more than a month later we found out we were pregnant with our first, and Savannah Rosalie came into our lives and has blessed us everyday! We are so happy together and look forward to every chance we can get into the mountains for an adventure.
